The Founder and His Company

John Cook is the Founder and Chairman of J.M. Cook & Co., a private family office holding company and strategic investment platform with ownership interests in transformative companies across critical industries.

With more than three decades of experience spanning investment banking, capital markets, private equity, structured finance, and institutional asset management, John has built a career originating, structuring, financing, and executing complex investment and strategic transactions across multiple industries and global markets.

John began his Wall Street career in investment banking, developing extensive expertise in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and structured finance. He subsequently founded and led his own investment banking and financial services firm before launching and managing a global macro hedge fund focused on international debt, foreign exchange, and global capital markets.

John later served as Chief Investment Officer for a prominent private family office, where he was responsible for buy-side investment strategies, portfolio management, risk management, and strategic capital allocation. He subsequently co-founded a Nasdaq-listed technology company, serving as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Development Officer, where he helped lead strategic growth initiatives and capital markets activities.

Today, John leads J.M. Cook & Co., a private investment and strategic advisory platform focused on private equity, critical minerals and essential base metals, energy infrastructure, AI-powered data center development, and next-generation technologies shaping the global economy.

Through J.M. Cook & Co., John works with institutional investors, family offices, corporations, entrepreneurs, and government stakeholders to identify, develop, structure, finance, and execute large-scale strategic investment opportunities.

His investment philosophy is grounded in fundamental analysis, disciplined risk management, strategic capital allocation, preservation of capital, and the identification of asymmetric opportunities created by structural changes in global markets and the economy.
